Our friendly staff are always happy to point you in the right direction and share some local secrets. Browse a large range of local information on where to stay, local attractions, what’s on and get the local know how on what to see and do. Pick up a visitor guide for the wider Hunter Region and other NSW destinations.

Locally supplied products, Maitland memorabilia and unique pieces adorn the shelves offering the perfect mementos for you to take home, including Bare Nature’s Kin soaps, Mirannie Honey, Pukara Estate, Concrete and Leaf, Florrie & me, Daughter of the King, The Little Red and pieces by Aboriginal artist Kerryann Rostron.

There is a host of other services and facilities at the VIC including:

  • Toilets (including disabled and baby change facilities).
  • Parking (including disabled and long vehicle bays) and an RV dump point. 
  • A picnic area in Ministers Park.

Central Park Café is also open 8.30am to 3.00pm on weekdays and 8.00am to 3.00pm on weekends and is the perfect spot to take a break, order a meal, grab a coffee and come in and chat with us.

(closed Christmas Day and Good Friday).
